9:00 AM - On arriving in Vevay take a little break form the road in our comfortable welcome center located in the old Phoenix Hotel. Here you will meet our friendly staff that will distribute welcome packets to everyone in your group and answer any questions on the town or things you saw on your way in.
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM - A visit to the Switzerland County Historical and River History museums tells the story of Switzerland County's unique position on the river and gives a glimpse into the lives of the people who built their fortunes and the town. You will learn about the days of river trade and entrepreneurs such as the Schenck and Pleasants families who built their fortunes on moving freight and passengers up and down the rivers.
10:45 AM – 11:30 AM You have seen how the 19th century river fortunes were made now its time to see what they built. The 35 room
Schenck Mansion overlooks the town and is now operated as a bed and breakfast. Beautifully restored and completely furnished in period antiques the Shcenck is a favorite for tours. The home of George Pleasants, business partner of the Schencks is equally impressive. Operated now as the
Rosemont Inn, the house appears much as it did when the Pleasants family took possession from the builder.

11:45 AM – 2:30 PM Round out your trip to Vevay by enjoying the shops, galleries and restaurants all within an easy walk from one another in the 19th century downtown. Take part in live artist demonstrations and workshops held at multiple locations. Check out the wonderful art at Signatures and stop by Danner's Hardware, the oldest business on its original site in Indiana is a museum in itself.
